SCOTLAND ROAD THEN AND NOW

SCOTLAND ROAD THEN AND NOW

As more and more of the old area is torn down and new building's, or in some cases empty spaces are left in their place we at the Scottie Press have decided to launch a new feature on our website.

Scotland Road Then and Now will be looking for people to send us two pictures one old or even in some cases a not so old picture, the other the exact same place as it is to-day. A lot of our website readers have left the area and would no doubt be amazed at the changes. For the better? Obviously that is a matter of personal opinion. A lot of the older houses needed to be updated and replaced but has this made the area a better place to live in? In the first of the series is a picture of the Bevington Bush Hotel, better known as Arden House. Opened in 1900 by Liverpool People's Home Ltd. The building offered 500 sleeping rooms for the sober working man. It was finally demolished in 1990.
